Manager Legal – Financial Services

This is a strategic role where you will be autonomously handling commercial risks, reviewing and drafting financial contracts, terms & conditions for major commercial deals with international financial institutions, investment banks, corporations, etc. You will ensure compliance with all relevant legislations, rules and regulations, codes of conduct, third party agreements and relevant international standards in managing such contracts. This is also a key relationship role where you will be working closely with many global business units & customers making recommendations to the company.

Ideally you will have the following.

1. A solid background in banking and finance law, with an exposure to financial services compliance. Experience within large financial institutions such as banks, stock brokerages, stock exchanges, etc where you have been responsible for contract drafting, reviewing and recommendations would be highly considered.

2. Experience in advising and assisting on legal issues within the business where required, identify the need for professional input, such as legal and finance.

3. Experience in advising on contractual compliance and regulatory matters,

4. High attention to details, commercial acumen and possess strong analytical skills.

5. Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.

6. Ability to juggle many priorities and work in a complex contractual and technical environment which is fast paced, and has many pressures.

Qualifications:

1. Attorney-at law,
2. At least 5 years post qualification experience as above,
3. A master’s degree in law and/or CIMA or a similar professional qualification would be an added advantage.
